The facelifted BMW iX M70 is the performance flagship of BMW's electric SUV range, replacing the pre-LCI M60. Built at Dingolfing on BMW's dedicated EV platform, it pairs a 108.9 kWh battery with two electric motors producing 659 hp and 1,015 Nm, delivering 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and up to 701 km WLTP range. Standard air suspension, 22-inch wheels, and the full M Sport package make it one of the most capable luxury electric SUVs available. As a mid-cycle refresh (I20 LCI), it benefits from hardware fixes and software refinements learned from the early 2022-2024 iX production run.· more· less

Common Problems
Recall-heavy platform but improving with LCI refinements
The BMW iX family has accumulated a significant number of recalls since its 2022 launch, covering the high-voltage battery, drive software, charging unit, cruise control, and steering gear. Most are resolved with free dealer interventions (software updates or component replacements). The LCI M70 benefits from lessons learned during the first three years of production and ships with corrected software and revised hardware. The main ongoing risks are air suspension wear (inherent to any air suspension system) and the possibility of software or electronic glitches in this heavily connected vehicle. Buyers of the LCI model are in a better position than early adopters, but thorough VIN-based recall verification remains essential.
