Coupe-style version of the X3 G01, sharing the CLAR platform and B48 2.0L petrol engine. The xDrive20i offers 184 hp and standard all-wheel drive, with the LCI facelift from 2021 adding a 48V mild-hybrid system. The B48 is generally a solid engine but has known weak points around the oil filter housing, coolant system, and intake valve carbon buildup. Electric tailgate failures and minor electronic gremlins are commonly reported on the G02. Production ended in 2025 with no direct successor.· more· less

Common Problems
Solid drivetrain, but plastic components and electrics need attention
The B48/ZF 8HP combination is one of BMW's more reliable modern drivetrains, and many G02 owners report trouble-free ownership well past 150,000 km. However, the X4 is a premium SUV with associated repair costs, and the oil filter housing, coolant system, and electric tailgate are documented weak points. Buy one with comprehensive service history, and budget for occasional repairs in the €500-1,500 range.
