Premium plug-in hybrid estate combining a twin-charged 2.0 petrol with electric AWD via a rear-axle motor (ERAD). Refined and quick but mechanically complex. Pre-2022 cars have documented ERAD and high-voltage heater issues; the 2023+ facelift simplified the engine and improved drivetrain reliability. Common Problems
Complex PHEV system, verify recalls and warranty status
The V60 T8 Recharge Mk2 is refined and capable but carries real PHEV-specific risk. ERAD failures and HVCH replacements are the most expensive surprises, with battery degradation a slower but inevitable concern. The 2023+ facelift improved drivetrain reliability and infotainment, but all units should have recent recall and battery health verification before purchase. Buying within remaining warranty or with an extended plan is strongly advised.
