Volvo's plug-in hybrid estate combining a 253 hp turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine driving the front wheels with an 87 hp electric rear-axle drive (ERAD) for through-the-road AWD. The T6 sat below the more powerful T8 Recharge and was the higher-volume PHEV variant in Europe from 2020. It targets the BMW 330e Touring and Mercedes C300e estate with a Scandinavian comfort focus and a sizeable 11.6 kWh battery offering 50-90 km of WLTP electric range.· more· less

Common Problems
Complex hybrid with serious recall and ERAD concerns
The V60 T6 Recharge is a refined estate but its plug-in hybrid drivetrain adds significant risk on top of the platform's existing Sensus and tailgate issues. The 2025 LG battery recall must be verified completed before purchase. The ERAD is less failure-prone on the T6 than the T8 but remains a high-cost item if it does fail. Treat the 8-year/100,000 km hybrid warranty coverage as the main protection and inspect carefully if the vehicle is approaching either limit.

Warranty Status
Factory warranty (2 years) Expired on all used cars
Hybrid/high-voltage battery warranty 8 years / 160,000 km from first registration (covers <70% capacity)
Volvo Selekt used-car warranty 12-24 months when purchased from Volvo dealer
Rust perforation warranty 12 years from first registration
The 8-year hybrid battery warranty is the most important protection on this car and is transferable to subsequent owners from the original in-service date. ERAD coverage under the hybrid warranty is inconsistent — newer manuals list it explicitly, earlier ones do not. Get written confirmation from Volvo about ERAD coverage status before purchase if the car is still within the 8-year window.
