Large 5- or 7-seat SUV sitting above the Tiguan in VW's range, launched in late 2024 on the MQB evo platform. The 1.5 eTSI with 48V mild hybrid is the volume engine. Too new for long-term failure data, but it shares the EA211 evo2 powertrain and DQ200 7-speed DSG used across the VAG group, so the known weak points of those components apply.· more· less

Buy if: You want a spacious VW SUV with modest fuel costs and accept that early-build software glitches may need dealer visits.

Common Problems
Too new for long-term data, but inherited VAG weak points are known
The Tayron itself is too new for verified failure rates, but the engine, gearbox and electronics are shared with the Tiguan Mk3, Golf Mk8 and Skoda Kodiaq Mk2. Early-build software glitches and the long-running DQ200 DSG concerns are the most likely cost drivers. Carbon buildup and cooling system seeps are normal long-term wear items rather than defects.
