The Caddy 2K is Volkswagen's compact van and MPV, widely used for both commercial and family purposes. The 1.4 TSI petrol variant, available from 2015, uses the EA211 engine shared with the Golf Mk7 and many other VW Group models. It is notably rarer than the diesel versions, chosen primarily by owners doing shorter trips where a diesel is less practical. Build quality is commercial-grade, meaning robust but with utilitarian cabin materials.· more· less

Buy if: You want a practical petrol van or MPV for mixed driving and can verify the timing belt and water pump service history.
Avoid if: You need a DSG automatic (DQ200 reliability concerns) or plan only short trips without regular longer runs to keep the engine healthy.

Common Problems
Solid engine, but watch the water pump and DSG
The EA211 1.4 TSI is a well-proven engine that runs reliably with proper maintenance. The main mechanical concerns are the plastic water pump housing and, on DSG-equipped models, the DQ200 gearbox. Manual gearbox versions are significantly more reliable overall. The Caddy-specific risks (sliding door mechanisms, commercial-use electrical wear) are moderate and predictable. Vehicles with complete service history and manual transmission represent the lowest-risk option.
