Common Problems
Improved over earlier MEB models, but platform-level issues persist
The ID.7 Pro S benefits from being the newest and most refined MEB platform vehicle, launching with more mature software than the ID.3 and ID.4. The 12V battery drain and touch-sensitive steering controls remain the most commonly reported complaints. More serious risks like drive unit bearing wear and HV battery module issues exist but are less frequently reported on the ID.7 than on older MEB siblings. The 8-year/160,000 km HV battery warranty provides meaningful protection for used buyers. Overall, the ID.7 represents the best reliability position of any current MEB vehicle.
