The range-topping performance variant of Audi's new A6 e-tron family, built on the 800-volt Premium Platform Electric (PPE) shared with the Porsche Macan Electric. The S6 e-tron pairs a front induction motor with a rear permanent-magnet synchronous motor for a combined 370 kW (503 PS), rising to 405 kW (551 PS) under launch control. The 100 kWh battery enables a WLTP range of up to 666 km and charges at up to 270 kW DC. Available as Sportback or Avant.· more· less

Common Problems
New platform with software teething problems but solid hardware foundations
The S6 e-tron is on Audi's newest EV platform, which means the hardware (800V architecture, NMC811 battery, tri-motor drivetrain) is modern and well-engineered, but the software stack is still maturing. Most current owner complaints center on infotainment glitches, ADAS failures, and charging logic bugs rather than mechanical failures. The air suspension and motor mount vibration are the main mechanical concerns. The PPE platform avoids the battery fire recalls that affected the older J1 platform (Taycan/e-tron GT). As the platform matures through software updates, reliability should improve meaningfully.

Factory warranty (2 years) Likely still active on most used examples
High-voltage battery warranty 8 years / 160,000 km
Electric motor warranty 8 years / 160,000 km
Rust perforation warranty 12 years
Most used S6 e-tron models will still be within the 2-year factory warranty given the model's late 2024 launch. The high-voltage battery and electric motors are covered for 8 years / 160,000 km. The air suspension, 12V battery, infotainment, and on-board charger are covered only under the standard 2-year warranty.
