The Peugeot 307 was European Car of the Year in 2002 and sold in very large numbers across the continent. The 2.0 HDi uses the PSA DW10 turbodiesel, available in 90 hp (8-valve DW10TD), 110 hp (DW10ATED), and 136 hp (16-valve DW10BTED4) versions. With proper oil changes and timing belt service, the engine regularly exceeds 300,000 km. It is a comfortable, practical family car with good motorway manners, held back by French electrical quirks and diesel emission system complexity on FAP-equipped models.· more· less

Common Problems
Robust engine, but emission system and electrics need attention
The DW10 diesel engine itself is durable and proven to high mileages with proper oil changes. The main ownership concerns are the FAP particulate filter and Eolys additive system (on equipped models), BSI electrical gremlins, and rapid front suspension wear. The 90 hp version without FAP and without dual mass flywheel is the cheapest to maintain. Post-2005 facelift cars have improved electrical systems and are generally more dependable.

Factory warranty (2 years) Expired on all 307 models
Rust perforation warranty (12 years) Expired on all 307 models
All Peugeot 307 models are well outside their original 2-year factory warranty and 12-year rust perforation warranty. No manufacturer-backed extended warranty is available for cars of this age. Third-party warranty providers may offer coverage but often exclude diesel-specific components like DPF, turbo, and injectors.
