The third-generation 3008 is the first car built on Stellantis' STLA Medium platform. The Hybrid 195 pairs a 1.6-litre PureTech turbo four-cylinder with a 92 kW electric motor and 21 kWh battery, channelled through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (e-DCS7). Striking inside with its panoramic i-Cockpit display, it offers roughly 60 km of electric range and a refined driving experience. As a first-year platform, several recalls have already been issued.· more· less

Buy if: You have a home charger, want a stylish PHEV with genuine electric range, and can verify all recall work has been completed.
Avoid if: You want a proven, trouble-free powertrain or cannot tolerate the risk of early-production teething issues on a brand-new platform.
Common Problems
Front suspension arm fixing screws can break, causing loss of steering control · more· less
A major recall affects 3008 Mk3 cars built between July 2023 and February 2025. Defective fixing screws on the front lower suspension arm ball joint mount can break, causing the ball joint to pivot and the wheel to change direction unexpectedly. This is a safety-critical defect and the recall has been extended twice, now covering approximately 95,000 vehicles across the 3008, 5008, Opel Grandland, and Vauxhall Grandland. Repair is free at Peugeot dealers, but some owners have reported delays of several months waiting for parts. Verify this recall is completed before purchase.
Three separate fuel line/hose recalls affect early production cars · more· less
At least three distinct fuel-system recalls affect early 3008 Mk3 production: (1) the low-pressure fuel line contacts the ignition coil screw and can chafe through, risking a fuel leak and fire (January-November 2024 production); (2) a weakness in the high-pressure fuel pump quick coupling connector can cause leaks (February 2023 to September 2024 production); (3) loose nuts on the high-pressure hose between the fuel pump and rail can cause leaks (April 2024 to April 2025 production). All three carry a fire risk. These are covered under recall campaigns and repaired free of charge, but their frequency on a new-generation car is notable. Verify all three campaigns have been completed.
The 21-inch panoramic i-Cockpit display can go black, freeze, or reboot while driving · more· less
The Mk3 3008 features a large 21-inch panoramic display combining the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. Owners have reported instances of the screen going completely black, freezing, or rebooting mid-drive. When the screen fails, critical functions like climate control, reversing camera, and parking sensors become inaccessible. Multiple Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this, and software updates have been released. Most cases are resolved by firmware updates at the dealer (free under warranty). Out of warranty, control unit replacement can reach €300-400 for the module. Software stability is expected to improve with further updates, but the reliance on a single large display for most vehicle functions means any glitch is more disruptive than on cars with separate physical controls.
The Punch Powertrain 7-speed dual-clutch can exhibit jerky shifts and hesitation · more· less
The e-DCS7 is a new 7-speed electrified dual-clutch gearbox developed with Punch Powertrain specifically for PHEV use. The closely related e-DCS6 (used in the mild-hybrid variants) has received significant complaints about jerky transitions between electric and petrol modes, particularly in stop-and-go traffic. Stellantis acquired Punch Powertrain fully in early 2025 partly to address quality concerns. The e-DCS7 in the PHEV has fewer reported issues than the e-DCS6 so far, but some owners describe occasional hesitation when pulling away and rough shifts during the electric-to-petrol transition. Software calibration updates have been released to improve shift smoothness. If mechanical issues develop, dual-clutch gearbox repairs typically cost €1,500-2,500 at specialist workshops.
Parasitic 12V battery drain and DC/DC converter faults can leave the car immobilised · more· less
PHEV models rely on a DC/DC converter to charge the 12V accessory battery from the high-voltage system. Several 3008 owners have reported the 12V battery draining within 48 hours of parking, even on brand-new cars. Diagnostics often reveal DC/DC converter faults and CAN communication errors. One owner replaced the 12V battery only for it to drain again, with the fault ultimately traced to the DC/DC converter. Replacing the 12V battery costs around €150-250. The onboard charger (which integrates the DC/DC converter) can cost €800-1,200 to replace when out of warranty. Under the 2-year factory warranty, these repairs are covered.
Production defect causing cracks in subframe bracket, affecting 1,961 vehicles · more· less
A recall covers 1,961 units of the 3008 and 5008 (Mk3) where the subframe support bracket may have been damaged during production and show cracks. This can weaken the structural integrity and potentially lead to a loss of vehicle control. The German KBA monitors this under reference number 14469R. The affected batch is small, but verify with the VIN whether your specific car is within the production range.
The 21 kWh PHEV battery will lose range over time, with replacement costs that are significant · more· less
The traction battery is warranted for 8 years or 160,000 km with a 70% capacity guarantee. Within the first 5 years, serious degradation is unlikely unless the car is regularly fast-charged or exposed to extreme temperatures. However, if the battery management system (BPGA) fails, it can trigger traction battery faults and prevent electric driving. The BPGA has been noted as a common failure point across Stellantis PHEVs. Under warranty, replacement is free. Out of warranty, battery module repairs range from €1,500 at specialists to €7,000 at dealers for a full pack replacement. Given the 8-year warranty, this is primarily a concern for second or third owners.
First-year platform with multiple recalls, but most are warranty-covered
The 3008 Mk3 is the first car on the STLA Medium platform, and its early production history shows the typical pattern of a new-generation vehicle: multiple recalls for suspension, fuel lines, and subframe issues in the first 18 months. The good news is that all safety recalls are repaired free of charge, and the PHEV powertrain itself has not shown widespread mechanical failures yet. The 1.6 PureTech engine is mature (in production since 2005 with continuous updates), and the 8-year battery warranty provides peace of mind. The main ownership risks are infotainment software glitches and the unproven e-DCS7 gearbox. Buying a car with verified recall completion and remaining warranty significantly reduces the financial exposure.
