Common Problems
Complex crossover with proven diesel but system-level risks
The M9R 2.0 Blue dCi engine is fundamentally robust and can cover high mileage with proper maintenance. However, the Espace V layers considerable complexity around it: 4Control rear steering, a dual-clutch EDC6 gearbox, an extensive SCR/AdBlue emissions system, and the R-Link 2 infotainment platform. Each of these systems has documented failure modes. Buying a well-maintained example with full service history and primarily motorway use significantly reduces the risk profile.
