The sporting flagship of the 971 Panamera range, positioned between the 4S and Turbo. It uses the EA825 4.0L twin-turbo V8 shared across Audi RS6/RS7, Lamborghini Urus, and Porsche Cayenne GTS. The engine sits in a hot-vee configuration with turbochargers between the cylinder banks. Paired with an 8-speed PDK and all-wheel drive, the GTS delivers genuine sports car performance in a four-door GT format with adaptive air suspension as standard.· more· less

Common Problems
Robust V8 platform with manageable but potentially expensive repair items
The Panamera GTS 971 is a well-engineered GT car with no catastrophic common failures. The EA825 V8 is fundamentally strong but carries the switchable water pump design flaw shared across all VW Group applications of this engine. Air suspension wear is predictable rather than unexpected, but still costly. The 2019+ GTS models benefit from improved cooling system components compared to the earliest 971 production. A pre-purchase inspection by a Porsche specialist with vacuum system check, coolant level verification, and suspension assessment is essential. Budget for premium parts and labor costs.

The external coolant pump recall (APA1) is a fire risk and must be confirmed as completed on all 2017-2021 models. The front trailing arm recall (AMB2) applies only to 2021 production and is safety-critical. The EA825 engine block recall affected a limited production run. Check the VIN at recall.porsche.com to verify all recalls and service campaigns have been completed.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (2 years, no km limit) Expired on all pre-2024 models
Porsche Approved Warranty Available for qualifying used cars through Porsche dealers
Rust perforation warranty (12 years) May still apply to 2013+ models
All 2019-2022 Panamera GTS models are outside the original 2-year factory warranty. Porsche has not extended coverage for the EA825 water pump defect (unlike Audi's Fiscina settlement). Porsche Approved Warranty is available through dealers for qualifying vehicles but excludes pre-existing conditions. Budget for all repairs as out-of-pocket costs.
