Porsche's first electric Macan rides on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) jointly developed with Audi. The 4S sits mid-range with around 380-450 kW dual-motor AWD, 100 kWh battery, and 270 kW DC charging. Built in Leipzig from 2024, it replaces the petrol Macan in many EU markets. As a first-generation platform with bleeding-edge software, early cars have shown the typical teething issues: backup camera glitches, headlight programming faults, and occasional infotainment freezes. The mechanical side, battery, motors, and chassis appears solid so far, mirroring the strong long-term record of the Taycan.· more· less

Common Problems
Solid hardware, but a software-heavy first-generation platform
The PPE platform is brand new and the Macan EV is its first volume product. Early cars have multiple recalls and known software bugs that Porsche is actively fixing through OTA and dealer flashes. Underlying battery, motor, and chassis hardware appears robust, but treat the first two model years as a maturing software product. Always verify all recall work is complete and the car runs the latest software before purchase.
