The Cross Turismo is the estate-bodied Taycan, introduced in 2021. All models come with all-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension, a fixed panoramic glass roof, and a slightly raised ride height compared to the sedan. Underneath, it shares the J1 platform, 800-volt architecture, and 2-speed rear gearbox with every other Taycan. Available from the entry-level Taycan 4 through to the Turbo S, with a significant facelift in 2024 (MY2025) bringing larger batteries and improved software.· more· less

Common Problems
Reliable drivetrain, but body-specific issues add to the Taycan's existing recall burden
The Cross Turismo shares all of the Taycan sedan's strengths and weaknesses: a robust 800-volt drivetrain with minimal degradation (typically 5-10% over 100,000 km), but significant battery fire recalls and 12V battery vulnerabilities. On top of these shared issues, the Cross Turismo adds body-specific concerns. The standard panoramic glass roof can crack (especially with roof bars installed), the tailgate is prone to water ingress that corrodes the close button, and the standard air suspension will eventually need attention. The 8-year/160,000 km EV system warranty covers major drivetrain and battery components, but 12V battery, infotainment, air suspension, and body-related issues fall under the standard 2-year warranty only. Always verify all recall campaigns are completed before purchasing.

Pre-Purchase Inspection Checklist
General checks
Specific for this vehicle
Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
High-voltage battery internal short circuit risk (2021-2024 Cross Turismo, campaigns ARA4/ARB5/ARB6/ARB7) Critical - verify completed
Front brake hose cracking (2020-2025 models) Critical - verify completed
Rear-view camera signal noise / failure to display (2019-2025 models) Verify completed
Occupant classification system / passenger airbag deactivation (Jan 2022 - Mar 2023 production) Verify completed
Air suspension strut potential failure (2020-2022, shared with Audi e-tron GT) Verify completed
Headlight control module software error (certain 2024 models) Verify completed
The Taycan Cross Turismo carries an unusually high number of recalls for a premium EV. The battery fire risk campaigns are the most critical. Use the official Porsche recall lookup tool at recall.porsche.com with the specific VIN to verify all campaigns have been completed. The battery recalls have been expanded multiple times, so a car that was cleared in 2023 may have been added in a later expansion.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (2 years, no km limit) Expired on all pre-2024 models
High-voltage battery warranty 8 years / 160,000 km, minimum 70% capacity guarantee
EV drivetrain components warranty 8 years / 160,000 km (motors, inverters, charger, heat pump)
Rust perforation warranty (12 years) Applies from first registration date
Porsche Approved Warranty Available through Porsche dealers for qualifying used cars
The 2-year general warranty covers the entire car including infotainment, 12V battery, air suspension, and non-EV components. The 8-year/160,000 km warranty covers the high-voltage battery (70% capacity guarantee), electric motors, inverters, on-board charger, and heat pump. This means 2021-2022 Cross Turismos are outside the general warranty but still covered for major EV components. The Porsche Approved Warranty program extends coverage for qualifying used cars. Critically, Porsche excludes water damage caused by blocked floor drains from warranty coverage, even if the car is within warranty period.
