Robust drivetrain, but electronics and software need monitoring
The Taycan's electric powertrain is genuinely reliable, with battery degradation of only 5-10% at 100,000 km being typical. The 2-speed rear gearbox has proven durable. However, the surrounding electronics — particularly the 22 kW onboard charger, 12V system, and software stack — are where most ownership frustrations arise.
