Performance-focused trim that sits between the 4S and Turbo on the J1 platform. The GTS gets 590 hp overboost, the larger 93.4 kWh Performance Battery Plus, adaptive air suspension as standard, PASM, and the GTS-specific chassis tuning. Sold as the saloon and the practical Sport Turismo from February 2022 until February 2024. Shares all J1 architecture with the Audi e-tron GT, which means it also inherits the recall history.· more· less

Common Problems
Strong drivetrain, but software, recalls, and consumables add up
The Taycan's dual motors and 2-speed rear gearbox have proven mechanically reliable across the range, with very few drivetrain failures reported. The 800V architecture is well-engineered and battery state-of-health data shows roughly 5-10% degradation over 100,000 km under normal use. However, the GTS inherits the full J1 recall history — the high-voltage battery fire risk, the brake hose recall, the air suspension strut recall, and the rear-view camera recall all apply. The 12V battery, infotainment, and heat pump remain the highest-frequency complaints. The 8-year/160,000 km warranty covers the HV battery and EV system components, but everything else falls under the standard 2-year warranty which has expired on all 2022-2024 GTS units. Verify all recalls before purchase.

Specific for this vehicle
Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
High-voltage battery internal short circuit risk (2020-2024, campaigns ARA4/ARB5/ARB6/ARB7) Critical - verify completed
Front brake hose cracking (2020-2025 models) Critical - verify completed
Rear-view camera signal noise / failure to display (2019-2025 models) Verify completed
Air suspension strut potential failure (2020-2022, shared with Audi e-tron GT) Verify completed
The Porsche Taycan has an unusually high number of recalls for a premium EV, with the battery fire risk campaigns being the most critical. Use the official Porsche recall lookup at recall.porsche.com with the specific VIN to verify all campaigns have been completed. Battery recalls have been expanded multiple times — a car that was clear in 2023 may have been added in a later expansion.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (2 years, no km limit) Expired on all 2022-2024 GTS models
High-voltage battery warranty 8 years / 160,000 km, minimum 70% capacity guarantee
EV drivetrain components warranty 8 years / 160,000 km (motors, inverters, charger, heat pump)
Porsche Approved Warranty Available through Porsche dealers for qualifying used cars
Rust perforation warranty (12 years) Applies from first registration date
The 2-year general warranty has expired on all 2022-2024 GTS units. The 8-year/160,000 km EV warranty still covers the high-voltage battery (70% capacity guarantee), electric motors, inverters, on-board charger, and heat pump. The 12V battery, infotainment, and air suspension are not covered by the EV warranty. The Porsche Approved Warranty extends coverage on qualifying used cars.
