Common Problems
New platform with active recalls: verify before buying
The Grande Panda Hybrid uses new-generation hardware (chain-driven T-Gen3 engine, eDCT6 gearbox, 48V BSG) that is a genuine improvement over older Stellantis powertrains, but has accumulated two significant recalls and a pattern of eDCT gearbox complaints in its first year. The 48V fire recall and fuel pipe recall are free dealer fixes that must be confirmed completed on any used example. The eDCT6 gearbox is the biggest ongoing concern: software updates help, but hardware issues remain unpredictable. Cars built from late 2025 onwards generally show fewer teething problems.

Pre-Purchase Inspection Checklist
General checks
Specific for this vehicle
Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
48V belt starter generator fire risk (F51L) - insufficient GPF/BSG clearance causing arcing and fire (Feb-Apr 2025 production) Critical - verify completed
High-pressure fuel pipe loosening - nuts on fuel pump to injection rail connection (2023-2025 T-Gen3 engines) Critical - verify completed
1.2 T-Gen3 camshaft phaser defect (engines produced 2023-Feb 2024) Verify if applicable
The Grande Panda Hybrid has two critical recalls (48V fire risk and fuel pipe loosening) that must be verified as completed before purchase. Contact a Fiat dealer with the VIN to check recall status. Additionally, verify whether the camshaft phaser recall applies to the specific engine production date.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (3 years / 100,000 km) Most used examples still within warranty
48V hybrid battery warranty (8 years / 100,000 km) Covers mild-hybrid battery and related components
Rust perforation warranty (8 years) Covers body panels against perforation corrosion
As a recently launched model (2025), most used Grande Panda Hybrids will still be within their 3-year factory warranty. Verify warranty transfer conditions with the selling dealer. Recall work is always free regardless of warranty status.
