Alfa Romeo's entry-level crossover, built on the Stellantis CMP platform shared with the Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka, and Jeep Avenger. The Hybrid 136 pairs the third-generation 1.2 EB2 turbo three-cylinder (now with timing chain rather than the problematic wet belt of earlier PureTech engines) with a 48V mild-hybrid system and an electrified 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Distinctive Alfa styling inside and out, but the e-DCS6 transmission has attracted early complaints across all Stellantis models that use it.· more· less

Buy if: You want Italian style with efficient hybrid economy and can verify all recalls have been completed, especially the high-pressure fuel line recall.
Avoid if: You mostly drive in heavy stop-and-go traffic where the e-DCS6 gearbox jerking is most apparent, or you prefer a proven powertrain with longer real-world reliability data.

Common Problems
New model with unproven gearbox, but improved engine
The Alfa Romeo Junior Hybrid 136 benefits from the third-generation chain-driven 1.2 engine, which avoids the timing belt disasters of earlier PureTech units. However, the e-DCS6 dual-clutch gearbox is the primary concern: it is new technology with limited real-world durability data and has attracted complaints across the entire Stellantis range. Most issues reported so far are drivability-related (jerking, hesitation) rather than catastrophic failures, and many are resolved through software updates. The car is too young for long-term reliability conclusions, but the platform siblings (Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka) provide some track record for the underlying architecture.
