The Competizione is the top-spec Abarth 595, producing 160-180 hp from a Garrett-turbocharged 1.4 T-Jet with Koni FSD dampers, Brembo brakes, and the distinctive Record Monza quad-exhaust as standard. It delivers a raw, characterful driving experience in the smallest possible package. Based on the Fiat 500 platform that ran from 2008 to 2024, it shares all the charm and all the quirks of its simpler siblings.· more· less

Common Problems
Characterful hot hatch that rewards attentive ownership
The Abarth 595 Competizione shares its strengths and weaknesses with the rest of the 595 range. The 1.4 T-Jet engine is fundamentally robust, but the Garrett turbo in the Competizione demands strict oil quality and change intervals. The Record Monza exhaust valve seizure is a near-certainty on cars without regular preventive greasing. Suspension, door handles, and tailgate wiring are frequent but individually inexpensive items. The gearbox synchro batch issue is the single biggest potential expense but affects only a minority of cars. With attentive maintenance this is a reliable and rewarding car; neglect leads to compounding small bills.
