A luxury electric SUV on Mercedes' dedicated EVA2 platform, positioned between the smaller EQB and the larger EQS SUV. The 350 4MATIC uses dual motors producing 292 hp with an 89 kWh usable battery, delivering around 400-450 km real-world range. Production runs from 2022 to 2026, after which it will be indirectly replaced by the GLC EQ on the newer MB.EA platform. Common Problems
First-generation software issues dominate, hardware is generally solid
The EQE SUV 350 4MATIC's main weakness is software maturity rather than mechanical reliability. Multiple recalls address critical software bugs (battery management shutdown, fuse box issues), all of which are fixed free of charge at the dealer. The electric drivetrain itself (motors, inverter, HV battery) has shown no pattern of widespread hardware failures. The 12V battery drain and MBUX instability are annoying rather than dangerous, and both have improved with successive updates. Cars with optional AIRMATIC air suspension carry an additional long-term repair cost risk that steel-spring models avoid.
