Common Problems
Mechanically simple, but service network is the real risk
The BYD Seal U Comfort has a straightforward drivetrain: single motor, LFP battery, no gearbox complexity. Major mechanical failures are unlikely in the first years of ownership. The LFP Blade Battery is among the safest and most durable EV battery chemistries available. The real ownership risk is the still-developing European service network and parts supply chain. If something does need repair, getting it fixed quickly and affordably depends heavily on proximity to an authorized BYD service point. Software-related issues have been gradually improving through OTA updates.
