Common Problems
Diesel-specific risks add up on short-trip use
The 1.5 BlueHDi avoids the wet timing belt drama of the petrol variant but introduces diesel-specific concerns: a known 7mm timing chain weakness on pre-2023 cars, DPF clogging on short-trip use, AdBlue injector faults, and EGR carbon buildup. Long-haul drivers will see most of these issues largely avoided. Stellantis's extended warranty (10 years / 150,000 km from June 2025) provides a safety net for qualifying chain failures. The diesel makes most sense for owners with predictable long-distance routines.
