The Zafira Tourer C is Opel's 7-seat MPV built on the Delta II platform shared with the Astra J. The 2.0 CDTI was the most powerful diesel option, offered in 130, 165, and 170 hp variants. Pre-2014 cars use the A20DTH engine, while 2015+ models received the revised B20DTH with AdBlue injection and 170 hp. A practical family hauler with strong torque and decent motorway economy, though parts and labour costs sit slightly above the smaller 1.6 CDTi.· more· less

Buy if: You need a powerful 7-seat diesel for motorway use and towing, and can verify the oil pump seal has been replaced and the gearbox is quiet.
Avoid if: You mainly drive short urban trips (DPF, EGR, and turbo will all suffer) or the car has any history of low oil pressure warnings.

Common Problems
Solid engine, but oil pump seal and gearbox need attention
The 2.0 CDTI is a torquey and efficient engine for the Zafira's size and weight. However, the oil pump pickup seal on pre-2014 A20DTH engines is a critical preventive maintenance item that, if neglected, can destroy the engine. The M32 gearbox bearing weakness is well-known across all GM applications of this unit. Later B20DTH models (2015+) have the corrected oil pump seal from factory but introduce AdBlue system complexity. With proper preventive maintenance and motorway-oriented driving, the 2.0 CDTI Zafira can be a reliable family car. Buyers should specifically verify the oil pump seal status and listen for gearbox whine before purchase.
