SEAT Tarraco 1.5 TSI

2019-2024Last reviewed: April 2026 · How this report is builtApril 2026

2019-2024 · 1.5 TSI ACT 150 hp 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol (EA211 EVO)

The largest SEAT model, sharing its MQB platform with the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace. The 1.5 TSI is the entry-level petrol engine and feels adequate rather than powerful in a car weighing 1,600 kg. Production ended in mid-2024 with no direct successor planned, which may affect residual values.

Spacious 7-seat option on MQB platform Efficient engine with long service intervals
Low-speed kangarooing on manual cars Infotainment system prone to glitches
Buy if: You want an affordable 7-seat SUV with a petrol engine and can find a DSG-equipped example with full service history.
Avoid if: You mostly drive in stop-and-go traffic with a manual gearbox, or need strong towing performance from the petrol engine.

Common Problems
Reasonably reliable but check gearbox type and software updates
The 1.5 TSI EA211 EVO engine is fundamentally sound but has some teething issues around the ACT cylinder deactivation system and turbo mapping, particularly on pre-2022 models with manual gearboxes. DSG-equipped cars avoid the kangarooing but introduce DQ381 mechatronic risk. Most issues are software-related and can be resolved with updates. The infotainment system is the most common source of complaints. Verify all software updates and recalls have been applied before purchase.
