The third-generation Tucson was one of Europe's best-selling compact SUVs, and the 2.0 CRDi is the strongest diesel option. The D4HA engine has been in production since 2009 and is shared with the Kia Sportage QL. Available in 136 hp (FWD/AWD) and 185 hp (AWD only) forms, both paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque-converter automatic. Hyundai's 5-year unlimited-mileage warranty remains a strong selling point on the used market.· more· less

Common Problems
Reliable diesel if driven regularly on longer routes and properly maintained
The D4HA 2.0 CRDi is a well-proven engine capable of reaching 300,000+ km with proper care. The main concerns are emissions system components (DPF, EGR, NOx sensor) that suffer from short-trip driving patterns, the dual mass flywheel on manual variants, and the universally reported sticky steering shaft. Cars with complete service history and regular highway use typically present far fewer issues. The turbocharger and core engine internals are generally robust. Always verify that the critical HECU fire recall has been completed before purchase.
