Second-generation compact diesel SUV (sold as ix35 in Europe, Tucson in other markets), produced 2010-2015 on the LM platform. The D4HA 2.0 CRDi is a robust diesel capable of high mileage with proper care, and parts are widely available. Known weak points include DPF clogging on short-trip cars, EGR carbon build-up, timing chain wear on higher-output 184 hp variants, and rear subframe corrosion in regions that salt their roads.· more· less

Buy if: You drive longer distances regularly, can verify the airbag and ABS recalls are completed, and find a car with full service history and no underbody rust.
Avoid if: You mostly do short urban trips (DPF clogging) or live in a salt-belt region without underbody protection (subframe corrosion risk).

Common Problems
Generally durable diesel, but emissions system and rust need attention
The D4HA 2.0 CRDi is a fundamentally robust engine that can reach 300,000 km with proper care. Most ownership pain comes from the diesel emissions system (DPF, EGR) on short-trip cars, and from underbody corrosion on cars that have lived in salt regions. A well-maintained, motorway-driven example with a clean underbody is one of the better value used diesel SUVs of its era; a neglected city-only car can become an expensive cycle of emissions repairs.
