The Model X was Tesla's first SUV and remains one of the most distinctive electric vehicles ever made. The 75D was the entry-level dual-motor variant, offering around 380 km WLTP range from its 75 kWh battery. Its signature Falcon Wing doors, standard air suspension, and panoramic windshield made it a technological showcase, but these same features are also the main sources of ownership headaches. Production of the 75D ended in January 2019 when Tesla streamlined the lineup to 100D and Long Range variants.· more· less

Common Problems
Reliable drivetrain, but complex body and suspension hardware add cost
The Model X 75D has a fundamentally robust electric drivetrain that can cover 200,000+ km with minimal powertrain concerns. The 8-year unlimited-km battery and drive unit warranty (on pre-2020 cars) provides a safety net for the most expensive components. However, the Falcon Wing doors, standard air suspension, and MCU1 touchscreen are all areas where age and mileage bring repair bills that other, simpler EVs avoid. Budget for at least one significant repair in these areas over a 5-year ownership period. Cars with complete Tesla service history and all recalls completed are significantly lower risk.
