The Smart #3 Brabus is the performance flagship of Smart's reinvention as an electric brand, built on Geely's SEA platform in a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz. With 428 hp from dual motors and a 3.7-second 0-100 km/h sprint, it offers hot-hatch performance in a compact crossover body. Built in China alongside its smaller #1 sibling, the #3 Brabus launched in Europe in early 2024 and shares most of its running gear with the Smart #1 Brabus.· more· less

Common Problems
Young platform with software growing pains, mechanically solid
The Smart #3 Brabus is built on Geely's SEA platform which is mechanically sound, and the dual-motor drivetrain has not shown significant reliability concerns. The main ownership challenges centre on software maturity: smartOS bugs, OTA update failures, and the frustrating ADAS reset behaviour. Build quality has improved over production runs but early cars may have interior trim issues. The 8-year battery warranty and 3-year vehicle warranty provide good coverage for used buyers still within warranty periods. Long-term durability data is limited given the model's youth.

Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
Rear left seatbelt buckle lock may open under extreme lateral acceleration (Smart #1 and #3, pre-October 2024 production) Verify completed
HV battery cell voltage imbalance (TBA24005, primarily early 2022-2023 Smart #1 builds, may affect early #3) Verify with VIN
Contact Smart Europe or a Mercedes-Benz dealer with the VIN to verify all recalls and technical bulletins have been addressed. The seatbelt recall fix takes approximately 30 minutes. Cars delivered after October 2024 already have the seatbelt fix applied from the factory.

Corrosion perforation 12 years / unlimited km
Integrated Service Package 3 years / 48,000 km (servicing and wear items)
Smart offers a 3-year unlimited-mileage factory warranty, which is longer than many European competitors. Used cars from 2024 may still have significant warranty remaining.
