Owners report the driver display and central infotainment screen going completely blank on start-up, with the car sometimes refusing to engage gear. A failed over-the-air software update has also bricked entire cars, with examples sitting at dealers for two to three weeks while Stellantis pushed a fix. Other software-driven faults include the heater running cold regardless of setting, lane keep assist steering the car to the far right of the lane, and the AC charge port refusing to communicate with chargers. Almost all cases are resolved with a dealer reflash at no cost under warranty, but out-of-warranty diagnostic time can run €100-400 and a full infotainment module replacement up to €600. Verify the car has the latest software level before purchase.

The Avenger inherits the well-documented eCMP 12V drain issue. Parasitic current and the connected services app polling the car can drain the AGM 12V battery within 3-5 days of inactivity. The car then becomes completely unresponsive, with no unlocking or starting, despite the 51 kWh main battery being full. A weak 12V also triggers cascading false faults including traction system warnings, proximity key errors and ABS alerts. Replacement costs €200-350 fitted and coded at a dealer. A trickle charger or driving the car at least weekly prevents the issue. Some owners report needing replacement every 3-4 years.

The Mahle-manufactured 11 kW onboard charger fitted to early eCMP cars (2020-2022 production across the platform) is a documented weak point. Failing units typically lose the ability to charge on one or more phases first, dropping from 11 kW to around 7 kW before failing entirely. The Avenger launched in late 2023, by which point Stellantis had largely transitioned to the more reliable VMAX unit from a Chinese supplier. Risk for the Avenger specifically is lower than for older e-208s and e-2008s, but cannot be ruled out on early-build cars. OBC replacement costs €2,200-3,800 at a dealer and the unit must be dealer-coded. Stellantis extended OBC warranty to 4 years from April 2021. Test AC charging on the car you intend to buy before signing.

A catch-all warning shared across eCMP platform cars. Most cases trace back to a weak 12V battery or a software bug, both of which resolve cheaply (€0-350). Wheel speed sensors and AC compressor wiring issues are less common but more expensive triggers. Some owners report the car shuddering to a halt and locking into Park. A temporary workaround is leaving the car off for 15 minutes before restarting. Hardware-driven cases involving sensor or compressor replacement can reach €1,500, but the majority resolve under warranty or with a software update at no cost.

German and Italian forum threads document a cluster of build-quality issues on early Avenger production (late 2023 to early 2024). Reported items include the tailgate not latching properly, door locks behaving erratically, brake pedal feeling pre-loaded at start-up, and interior trim rattles. Almost all are warranty fixes at a dealer, but check every door, the tailgate, the frunk, and listen for rattles on a longer test drive. On a used car the residual warranty should still cover these.
