The F-Type V6 S is arguably the sweet spot of the F-Type range. The 3.0-litre supercharged AJ126 V6 produces 380 hp and a distinctive exhaust note, paired with the ZF 8-speed automatic for smooth and rapid shifts. Available as both coupe and convertible, it offers genuine sports car performance without the running costs of the 5.0 V8 variants. The V6 was dropped from European markets with the 2021 facelift, making the 2013-2020 cars the only V6 S models available in Europe.· more· less

Common Problems
Robust engine wrapped in a maintenance-intensive platform
The AJ126 V6 supercharged engine is fundamentally strong and many examples exceed 150,000 km without major powertrain issues. The main concerns are the peripheral components: plastic coolant pipes that crack, a supercharger coupler that wears, and an active exhaust that needs exercising. Most repairs become expensive primarily because of labor access (supercharger removal for coolant work), not because of complex part failures. Buying a well-maintained example from 2016 onwards with complete service history significantly reduces risk. Budget for proactive coolant pipe replacement and supercharger coupler swap within the first year of ownership.
