One of the last traditional large MPVs in Europe, the Galaxy Mk3 offered genuine seven-seat capability that SUVs of its time struggled to match. Built on the same CD4 platform as the S-Max and Mondeo, it paired a spacious cabin with the refined 2.0 EcoBlue diesel for comfortable motorway cruising. Production ended in 2023 as the market shifted entirely to crossovers.· more· less

Common Problems
Capable but demands diligent maintenance
The 2.0 EcoBlue is a strong performer in the Galaxy, offering good torque and economy for a large seven-seat MPV. However, the wet timing belt, complex emissions aftertreatment (DPF, EGR, AdBlue), and sensitivity to driving patterns mean it requires attentive maintenance. Cars used predominantly on longer journeys with complete, verified service history tend to fare much better than those used primarily for short urban trips. Verify the wet timing belt replacement status and recall completion before purchasing.
