2021-present · 88 kWh (usable) single rear motor RWD (216 kW / 294 hp) electric crossover

Ford's first purpose-built electric crossover pairs an 88 kWh usable battery with a single rear motor for 216 kW and the longest range in the Mach-E lineup, with around 450-480 km real-world range. DC fast charging reaches up to 150 kW on later models. The spacious interior, comfortable ride, and competitive used pricing have made it a popular European alternative to the Tesla Model Y.

Common Problems
Below-average reliability for 2021-2022, improving for 2023+
Consumer Reports rated the 2022 Mach-E 1 out of 5 for reliability. The HVBJB defect is critical on pre-June 2022 Extended Range builds and must be verified as recalled. The RWD variant avoids AWD-specific front motor and half shaft concerns, making it slightly more reliable than the AWD. Software quality has improved with OTA updates but still lags behind competitors. Battery and electric motor durability has been excellent, with one high-mileage example retaining 92% capacity after 500,000 km. The 2023+ models show meaningful improvement.
