2021-present · 1.0 TCe 90 hp (H4D) 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol

Europe's most affordable new car, built on the Renault Clio V platform with the same 1.0 TCe engine. Surprisingly competent for the price, with a spacious cabin and reasonable motorway manners. The Mk3 is a massive step forward from the older Sandero in refinement and safety, though interior materials remain basic.

Very low purchase and running costs Spacious cabin for the class
Turbo wastegate rattle on many cars Basic build quality and thin paint
Buy if: You want the lowest possible cost of ownership in a modern, safe supermini with a complete service history.
Avoid if: You need a CVT automatic (reliability concerns) or expect premium build quality and sound insulation.

Common Problems
Affordable and generally reliable, few serious issues
The Sandero Mk3 1.0 TCe is a straightforward, budget-friendly car with no catastrophic reliability weaknesses. The turbo wastegate rattle is the most commonly reported issue and is mostly cosmetic. Early production cars (2020-mid 2021) have more electrical niggles than later cars. Timing chain longevity depends heavily on oil change discipline. Parts are cheap and repairs are simple, keeping even unexpected costs manageable.
