Alfa Romeo's first fully electric model, built on the Stellantis e-CMP2 platform shared with the Jeep Avenger, Fiat 600e, Peugeot e-2008 and Opel Mokka-e. The Veloce variant adds 281 hp and a mechanical limited-slip differential for a sportier character, while the standard Elettrica focuses on efficiency. Routine maintenance costs are low, but early-production software and 12V battery issues are widely reported on the platform.· more· less

Common Problems
Simple drivetrain, but expect first-year software teething
The Junior Elettrica benefits from the latest e-CMP2 platform with the improved VMAX onboard charger, avoiding the catastrophic Mahle OBC failure mode that affected earlier Stellantis EVs. The electric motor and 54 kWh battery have shown no widespread reliability concerns so far. The main risks are software glitches, 12V battery drain when the car sits unused, and lower real-world range than advertised. Verify all software updates are applied and the latest infotainment firmware is installed before purchase. The 8-year high-voltage battery warranty remains active on all used examples.

Specific for this vehicle
Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
Software updates for infotainment, ADAS and BSI modules (rolling, multiple campaigns since launch) Verify completed
Charging system software refinements (2024-2025) Verify completed
Contact an Alfa Romeo dealer with the VIN to verify all software updates and recall campaigns have been completed. The Junior is still very new, so additional campaigns may be issued as Stellantis refines the platform.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (2 years) Still active on all used cars
High-voltage battery (8 years / 160,000 km) Active, 70% capacity guarantee
Onboard charger extended warranty (4 years) Active on all used cars
Rust perforation 8 years
The Junior Elettrica is recent enough that the original factory warranty remains active on virtually all used examples. The 8-year high-voltage battery warranty covers capacity dropping below 70%. The extended onboard charger warranty (4 years from registration) applies, though the newer VMAX unit fitted to the Junior is more reliable than the older Mahle units used in pre-2023 Stellantis EVs.
