The Jaecoo E5 is Chery's affordable electric compact SUV for Europe, built on the T1X platform shared with the Omoda E5. Launched in late 2025, it offers a 58.9 kWh LFP battery with around 400 km WLTP range, a 155 kW front motor, and a generous 7-year/150,000 km factory warranty. Competitive on price and equipment (heated/ventilated seats, 13.2-inch screen, panoramic roof standard), it undercuts established European EV rivals while matching them on space and specification.· more· less

Common Problems
Brand-new model with limited real-world data, protected by strong warranty
The Jaecoo E5 is too new in Europe for widespread reliability data to exist. The LFP battery and single-motor drivetrain are inherently simple, and the 7-year/150,000 km warranty provides substantial protection. Known concerns center on software maturity (infotainment lag, regenerative braking calibration, ADAS false warnings) rather than mechanical failures. The main practical risk for early adopters is the still-developing dealer network, which could mean longer wait times for parts and repairs. As a Chery product, it shares technology with well-established Chinese-market vehicles, but the European-market track record has yet to be built.

Specific for this vehicle
Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
No recalls issued for the Jaecoo E5 as of early 2026 Not applicable
Jaecoo 7 wiring harness/ECU clip recall (Apr-Dec 2025 production, ICE model only, does not affect E5) Not applicable
Contact your local Jaecoo dealer or the national vehicle recall authority with the VIN to verify whether any recalls have been issued for your specific vehicle. The Jaecoo 7 wiring harness recall does not affect the E5, but stay informed as the brand establishes its European recall processes.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (7 years / 150,000 km) No mileage limit for the first 3 years. Transferable to subsequent owners.
High-voltage battery (8 years / 160,000 km) Covers defects and capacity below 70% of original.
Rust perforation warranty (12 years) Covers corrosion-related perforation of body panels.
Spare parts warranty 2 years on replacement parts.
Paint warranty 3 years from first registration.
Jaecoo's 7-year factory warranty is one of the longest in the market, matching Kia and MG. The warranty transfers to subsequent owners for the remaining term. All used E5s sold in 2026 should still be within warranty. Ensure the service history is complete, as missed scheduled services can void warranty coverage.
