Genesis's first dedicated electric vehicle, sharing the Hyundai Motor Group's 800V E-GMP platform with the Ioniq 5 and EV6. The AWD version pairs two permanent magnet motors for 318 hp and 605 Nm, with a 77.4 kWh battery offering around 400 km WLTP range and 10-80% fast charging in roughly 18 minutes. Positioned as a luxury alternative to its siblings, the GV60 adds premium interior materials, adaptive suspension, and distinctive design touches like the crystal sphere gear selector.· more· less

Common Problems
Good EV fundamentals, but ICCU recall and limited service network require attention
The GV60's E-GMP drivetrain has proven robust, with few reports of motor or high-voltage battery failures. The main risks are shared with its Ioniq 5 and EV6 siblings: the ICCU charging controller (covered by recall but verify completion) and the heat pump system in cold climates. The 12V battery drain is manageable with regular driving. The biggest practical concern for European buyers is Genesis's still-growing dealer and service network, which can mean longer wait times for parts and repairs compared to established brands.

The GV60 has been subject to several recalls in its first few production years, which is not unusual for a new model on a new platform. The ICCU recall is the most critical. Contact Genesis Europe or check the recall status using the VIN before purchase.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (5 years / unlimited km, EU) Active on 2022+ cars until at least 2027
High-voltage battery warranty 8 years / 160,000 km with 70% capacity guarantee
ICCU extended coverage 15 years / 400,000 km (South Korea confirmed; check local market)
Roadside assistance 5 years from first registration
Genesis offers one of the most generous European warranties at 5 years with unlimited mileage, and it transfers to second owners. Early GV60 models (2022-2023) may still have active warranty coverage. The ICCU extended warranty has been announced in South Korea and may apply in other markets. Verify coverage details with your local Genesis service partner.
