Genesis's first dedicated electric crossover, built on the Hyundai-Kia E-GMP 800V platform shared with the Ioniq 5 and EV6. The RWD version uses a single 168 kW rear motor with a 77.4 kWh battery, offering up to 451 km WLTP range and 10-80% DC fast charging in roughly 18 minutes. Positioned as the luxury alternative in the E-GMP family, with premium materials, Face Connect, and a crystal sphere shifter. Genesis's European dealer network remains small, which can complicate warranty and service.· more· less

Common Problems
Solid EV fundamentals, but ICCU risk requires attention
The GV60 shares its core hardware with the proven Ioniq 5 and EV6, and the battery pack and electric motor have shown strong durability so far. The main concern is the ICCU charging controller, which affects all E-GMP vehicles and can leave the car completely immobile. A recall campaign exists but its long-term effectiveness is still being debated. The 12V battery drain is a platform characteristic rather than a defect. Heat pump and software issues are less common and mostly covered under Genesis's 5-year warranty. For a used buyer, verifying ICCU recall completion and checking 12V battery health are the two most important steps.

Genesis offers one of the strongest warranties in Europe at 5 years with unlimited mileage. Early 2022 models may now be approaching warranty expiry. The HV battery is covered for 8 years.
