Lotus's first electric four-door, positioned as a 'hyper GT' rivalling the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-Benz EQS. Built in Wuhan on Geely's SEA-S 800V platform with a 102 kWh CATL battery, dual motors, and standard air suspension. The base model produces 612 hp, while the R delivers 905 hp with a 2-speed rear gearbox. Build quality and interior materials are a significant step forward for Lotus, though the car carries the software teething issues common to the Eletre, its platform sibling.· more· less

Buy if: You want bleeding-edge EV performance with GT comfort, can tolerate early-adopter software rough edges, and have a Lotus dealer within reasonable distance for warranty service.
Avoid if: You need a mature infotainment system, depend on a dense service network, or prefer a car with a longer real-world reliability track record.

Common Problems
First-generation platform with software teething issues, offset by strong warranty
The Emeya is a technically impressive car on a new platform from a manufacturer transitioning to electric vehicles. The most common issues reported across the Eletre/Emeya platform are software-related and typically resolved through OTA updates. The 12V battery/supercapacitor drain and limited dealer network are the most practical concerns for owners. The 5-year/150,000 km warranty with 8-year/200,000 km battery coverage is generous and mitigates most risk for first and second owners. Long-term reliability data does not yet exist, but the underlying Geely/SEA-S architecture is shared with high-volume Chinese-market vehicles which provides some confidence in the core hardware.
