Saab's executive sedan in its most accessible form. The 2.0t pairs the B205E four-cylinder turbo with the same comfortable, safe platform as the Aero, offering a relaxed touring character with lower running costs than the 2.3-litre models. As an orphan brand since 2012, parts availability remains surprisingly good through GM sharing and a dedicated enthusiast aftermarket, though finding specialist mechanics is the real long-term challenge.· more· less

Common Problems
Reliable when maintained, but orphan brand adds complexity
The B205E engine is fundamentally robust and many examples exceed 300,000 km with diligent maintenance. The critical requirement is using fully synthetic oil with 8,000-10,000 km change intervals, especially on pre-2004 cars where the sludge risk is highest. The DI cassette, CPS, and BPC solenoid are well-understood wear items with affordable replacement parts. As an orphan brand, finding specialist knowledge is the biggest practical challenge. Cars with complete service history from a Saab specialist, and post-2004 PCV revisions, present significantly lower ownership risk.

Since Saab no longer operates as a manufacturer, verify recall completion through NHTSA/KBA databases or a Saab specialist with access to service records. The IDM and oil sludge recalls are particularly important to confirm.
