One of Europe's most affordable new electric cars, distributed through the Stellantis dealer network since late 2024. The T03 packs a 37.3 kWh LFP battery, a 70 kW motor, and surprisingly generous equipment (adaptive cruise, panoramic sunroof, six airbags) into a compact city car format. Originally sold in China since 2020 under Leapmotor's own name, European cars were assembled at the Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland until 30 March 2025, when that line stopped; later cars are imported. Stellantis handles sales, servicing, and parts through its existing European network of over 800 locations.· more· less

Buy if: You want an affordable, well-equipped electric city car for short daily commutes and can accept the trade-offs of a young brand in Europe.
Avoid if: You need polished software, reliable ADAS tuning, or are uncomfortable being an early adopter of a brand with limited European track record.

Common Problems
Simple drivetrain, but software maturity is the main concern
The Leapmotor T03's LFP battery and single-motor drivetrain are mechanically straightforward, and no widespread powertrain failures have been reported. The main ownership challenges are software-related: OTA updates that occasionally fail or introduce new bugs, charging interruptions caused by BMS calibration issues, and ADAS systems that are more annoying than helpful. Most problems are resolved through software patches or dealer resets at no cost. The Stellantis dealer network provides reasonable service access, though dealer familiarity with the Leapmotor platform is still developing. With limited European track record (sales began late 2024), long-term reliability remains unproven.
