Cupra's first dedicated electric SUV coupe, built on the Volkswagen Group MEB platform at VW Anhui in China and exported to Europe. The Endurance is the single-motor RWD variant with a 77 kWh usable battery, offering around 530 km WLTP range and 210 kW (286 hp). It shares core technology with the VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, and Cupra Born, but adds a lower, sportier body with coupe roofline. A facelift announced in early 2026 brings physical steering wheel buttons, a larger cockpit display, and an entry-level 58 kWh LFP variant.· more· less

Common Problems
Mechanically simple EV with typical first-generation software growing pains
The Cupra Tavascan Endurance benefits from the VW Group MEB platform, which by 2024 is in its fourth year of production and has had many early issues resolved. The electric motor and 77 kWh battery pack are fundamentally reliable. The main ownership annoyances are software-related: infotainment bugs, app connectivity problems, and charging system glitches, all of which have been gradually improved through OTA updates. The R744 heat pump requires specialist servicing that most independent workshops cannot perform. As a very new model with limited real-world data, some issues may not yet have surfaced. The 5-year factory warranty and 8-year battery warranty provide meaningful protection for early buyers.

Pre-Purchase Inspection Checklist
General checks
Specific for this vehicle
Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
MEB platform battery module defect (production Feb 2022 - Aug 2024) affecting ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.Buzz, and Cupra Born. Tavascan production started late 2023; verify with VIN if affected. Verify with VIN
Roof box recall (specific Cupra accessory lot numbers) due to potential separation from the vehicle. Verify if applicable
The Cupra Tavascan is a very new model and no Tavascan-specific recalls have been issued as of early 2026. However, the broader MEB platform battery module recall (affecting nearly 100,000 VW Group EVs built between February 2022 and August 2024) may include early Tavascan production. Contact a Cupra dealer with the VIN to verify all recalls and service campaigns have been completed.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty 2 years (extendable to 5 years / 100,000 km)
High-voltage battery warranty 8 years / 160,000 km with 70% capacity guarantee
Rust perforation warranty 12 years
Extended warranty Available through Cupra dealers
Cupra's base EU warranty is 2 years. Some markets offer 5 years / 150,000 km coverage or extended warranty packages. The 8-year / 160,000 km battery warranty is the most valuable coverage for used buyers, covering the high-voltage battery pack, electric motor, and power electronics for capacity below 70%. Given the Tavascan's 2024 launch, most used examples should still have remaining factory warranty. Verify exact coverage using the VIN and original registration date.
