The seventh-generation Cuore was Daihatsu's last European model before the brand stopped selling new cars on the continent in early 2013. It uses Toyota's proven 1KR-FE three-cylinder engine, shared with the Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1. It is one of the lightest and cheapest cars to run in its class, weighing under 800 kg and returning genuine 5 l/100 km consumption.· more· less

Common Problems
Mechanically robust but corrosion is the main threat
The 1KR-FE engine, jointly developed by Toyota and Daihatsu, is proven and capable of exceeding 200,000 km with basic maintenance. The main ownership risks are body corrosion and exhaust deterioration, both accelerated by European road salt. Daihatsu stopped selling new cars in Europe in 2013, but official service and parts support continues in Germany and Austria through EF D and in the Benelux through Daihatsu Service Benelux, and engine and drivetrain parts are shared with Toyota models and remain widely available. Daihatsu-specific body panels and trim are harder to source and may require breaker yards or specialist importers.

Daihatsu stopped selling new cars in Europe on 31 January 2013, but official service, warranty and recall handling did not stop with it. EF D took over the official Daihatsu service, warranty and parts organisation for Germany and Austria on 1 February 2013, and Daihatsu Service Benelux continues through dedicated service dealers. Take the VIN to the Daihatsu service organisation for your country to confirm the power steering campaign was carried out.
Warranty Status
Factory warranty (3 years / 100,000 km) Expired on all Cuore L276 models
Daihatsu network New-car sales ended 2013; official service and parts continue through EF D (Germany, Austria) and Daihatsu Service Benelux
Parts and service continuity Engine parts available through Toyota suppliers; body parts via breakers
All Cuore L276 models are well outside any factory or extended warranty. Daihatsu stopped selling new cars in Europe in 2013, though official service, warranty and parts operations continue in Germany and Austria through EF D and in the Benelux through Daihatsu Service Benelux. Engine and drivetrain parts remain available because the 1KR-FE is a Toyota engine used across several models still in production. Daihatsu-specific body panels, trim pieces, and electrical components are more difficult to source and typically come from breaker yards or specialist importers.
